Welcome

In 2009 we went to Latvia.  Staying in Riga on the Baltic coast it was another independently organised trip.  Once again this was during the school holiday in February.  We stayed in a Hostel just outside the city centre and had exclusive use of it.  Very basic but functional for our needs.

Why Latvia

After the success of the trip to Poland in 2008 it was decided that a trip should be organised at the same time of year just for Explorer Scouts and Leaders again.  Unfortunately, due to the economic climate at the time of the trip, the uptake wasn't as big as expected with only 18 people going on the trip.  For those that went, they all said it was worth while.
