We are the 1st Silver End Scout Group based in the village of Silver End. We were formed in 1928 and are one of the oldest Scout Groups in the area.  Our aim is to promote the development of young people to achieve their full physical, intellectual, social and spiritual potential and to make them into responsible members of today's society.

We also provide a focal point for the local area at which our young people may gain a healthy and socially beneficial experience. We have over 120 children on our books varying in age from 6 to 18 and a team of very energetic leaders of both sexes who volunteer a lot of their spare time in helping them achieve their aims.

We meet over four separate evening with other events taking place over the weekends and school holidays.  The experience and enthusiasm of the leaders has helped ensure that the members of the 1st Silver End Scout Group have always been encouraged to fulfil their potential.

We are currently inviting businesses and individuals to get involved in the community in the hope that they will be able to help in our quest to raise £100,000 for a new Scout Head Quarters and local community amenity.

Our Existing building was acquired second hand over 20 years ago and was originally designed for up to 20 young people per session to enjoy the adventure of Scouting.  Back then we only had Scouts and Cubs - a total of approximately 50 male members of the youth from the village. We now accept girls and boys and have a full Scout Troop of 60, a full Cub Pack of 30 and a full Beaver Colony of 24 with boys and girls on the waiting list to join us.  We also have the District Explorer Scouts meet at our HQ which is made up of young boys and girls from the village aged 14 - 18.

We are looking for anyone who can offer help in any way, be it financial or gifts in kind so that we can continue to provide an extremely worthwhile environment for the youth of today.
