Scouts is open to all Girls and Boys ages from 10.5 to 14 years old, but they may start at 10 and stay until they are 14.5 years old. Silver End are one of the biggest Scout Troops in the area with membership currently at the around 60 young people. Of these over a third are girls.

Being a member of the Scout Troop is all about Fun, Friendship and Adventure. There are badges that can be earned, but they are all about participating and not having to reach a set standard. This means that everyone has a fair chance of being awarded for what they do.

We meet on a Friday night but at least once a month we will be out and about taking part in various activities or camps or trips. It may seem that with all the trips and activities we do that it is an expensive organisation to join, but we get the best deals we can and where possible subsidies the major activities. This means you can take part in them far cheaper than if you were to go as a family or group of friends.

International Experiences are also a big part of the Scout Troop. Every other year we go on a trip abroad lasting at least 7 days. In the past we have been to Switzerland, Hungary, Germany and in 2011 we are going to Iceland and have plans for Slovenia in 2013 and Belgium in 2015.

The Scout Troop has it's own website, packed full of information, photos and videos. Take a look at:-
